About Kristina Geddert Photography

  • Iā€™ve been a photographer for over a decade. I know the right posing, best lighting and most dynamic photo locations, but I also know how to evoke and then capture real love, true personality and honest emotions with playful games and thoughtful prompts. Also, as someone who doesnā€™t always love herself in a picture, I know how to help you feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera, and capture all of your best moments and angles.

  • Before I became a professional photographer, I was an elementary teacher for a decade. Trust me, if I can get 34 fifth graders to enjoy doing hard math problems, I can definitely create the most fun photo session for you and your family. I have all of the tricks up my sleeve to get genuine laughter and smiles from even the most reluctant photo subject (adults included :-p). Youā€™ll find me making the silliest noises for babies, challenging your wiggleworms to a race, or initiating familywide tickle attacks. The moments captured will be precious.

  • Itā€™s more than just my bold and colorful editing style, or the editing college classes taken and years of practice Iā€™ve had to refine my craft. One thing that sets me apart from other photographers is my hard work, efficiency, time management and editing speed. Put the horror stories of multiple month waiting times into your past, that will NOT happen here. With me, you get a 30 day finished gallery guarantee. But more often, expect to wait just 1 - 2 weeks before receiving your viewing gallery of photos! Need photos on a deadline? No problem!

I have been a photographer for over a decade, and absolutely love photographing families, newborns, seniors and maternity! Technically I am a Yuba City photographer, since that is where I live, but I take portraits anywhere in the Greater Sacramento Area and many of my photo sessions are in Roseville and Sacramento. My favorite part of photography is joking around and having a great time at photo sessions with my clients. I promise you we will have a fun time together, no matter what! When I donā€™t have a camera in my hand, I am the most outdoorsy nerd. Catch me going on 30 mile backpacking trips or staying at home and rereading Harry Potter for the 10th time.

I currently live in the Yuba City area with my husband Aaron and 1 year old son. We also have two dogs (a border collie and cattle dog), who also often get to pose for my camera. I serve the larger Yuba City, Sutter, Greater Sacramento, Roseville and Davis area. Longer drives to outside areas can also be arranged for an additional travel fee. Being a Yuba City Photographer is absolutely a dream come true, and I absolutely love what I do.

When you come to our photography session, donā€™t worry about how your kids will act. First of all, since I was a teacher for 10 years prior to becoming a professional photographer, I have a real knack for getting kids laughing and on board with taking pictures. But second, it really only takes milliseconds to freeze a moment. Trust me, I once did a photo session with my son where he was picking his nose for almost the entire time! I mean, I could not keep this kidā€™s fingers out of his nose! And yet I still managed some amazing photos during that session, because it really just takes a second of a smile for me to capture it. If I can do it with him, I promise I can do it with your kids! My favorite age range to that photos of is that tricky 0 - 6 year old age range. I love babies and toddlers! You have to work a bit harder for those photos but thatā€™s what makes them so much more rewarding, and the emotions you capture are so real and genuine.

I have over 15 years of experience working with kids, from my years as an elementary school teacher to teaching swimming lessons, working at a preschool and working at summer camps. I connect with all personalities, so whether you have a wild crew or a reserved one, we will capture wonderful moments together.

Fun Facts About Me

Here are some fun facts about me that are NOT photography related:

  1. My longest backpacking trip was 1500 miles long! I have backpacked almost all of the Pacific Crest Trail, which goes from the border of Mexico to the border of Canada. Iā€™m only missing a small portion of Northern Californian and all of Washington!

  2. I speak German fluently, and Spanish poorly. My grandparents live in Germany and I grew up visiting them over summers and still speak, read and write it today. I took Spanish for several years in school, but am definitely not very good at it.

  3. I have a Masters in Education. I got my Bachelors of Science in Human Development as well as Masters in Education at UC Davis, which I absolutely loved attending! I lived in Davis for 10 years prior to moving to Yuba City.
